Beginner: An introduction to Hatha Yoga and all of its health benefits.
As you embark on your yogic path, learn specific stretches, breathing exercises and postures in a nurturing atmosphere. These activities will increase your flexibility, build physical strength, and help focus your mind and body to develop awareness. This class will teach you the basics of yoga and form a strong foundation for your practice. Every class begins and ends with a meditation/relaxtion activity to quiet the mind and rejuvinate the body.
Intermediate: Delving deeper into yoga practices.
Deepen your yoga practice as you continue to learn more breathing techniques (pranayama) and postures (asanas). Challenge yourself to expand the mind/ body connection by learning more about the underlying principles of yoga (meditation, mantra, philosophy, diet etc.). Continue to focus and strengthen the mind while increasing your body's flexibility, strength and stamina. This course is suitable for people with some previous yoga knowledge and experience.
Flow Yoga: Dynamic yoga based on combinations of postures.
Yoga postures (asanas), based on a specific theme i.e.. back bends, hip flexibility etc., are linked together to create a series of sequences. Often music is used to create a dance like quality which is artistic, challenging and fun. This class involves more physical endurance than regular yoga class and is suitable for students with a strong foundation in the postures.
Chakra Yoga: A yoga course based on the 7 Chakra system.
A chakra is an energetic wheel that resides along the spine from the root to the crown. Each week, one chakra will be examined and explored through specific breathing practices and postures. As well, information regarding the physiological and psychological functions of each chakra will be discussed. This course is designed for experienced yoga students who are interested in delving more deeply into the philosophical and spiritual aspects of yoga. Classes are 2 hours in length and are not open to drop in participants as the course progresses sequentially from chakras 1 through 7.
Fees for Regular Yoga Classes:
Classes are organized into 8 week sessions.
* $115.00 for 8 classes
* Drop in classes: $15.00 per class
*Teen Rate: $10.00 per class
Fees can be paid by cash or cheque at the beginning of the term.

Please Note: All students are required to fill out a health form and a liability waiver prior to starting class.

Sound Journeys - The First Thursday of each month (May to December):
7:00-8:30 pm. No Charge.

Sound has been used for healing and transformation for thousands of years in cultures around the world. Everything in the universe is vibrating in a cosmic symphony. By stilling our minds and learning to observe the vibrations in our bodies and our energy fields, we begin to realize our connection to the primordial OM, the emanation that is singing the world into existence at every moment.
Each month we will be exploring different ways of experiencing the vibration within our own being. Sometimes this will include chanting, mantra, or simply receiving the energy of instruments and sound healing devices. The sound journey often leaves people in a state that is conducive to meditation, so participants are welcome to sit and meditate with us at the end of the sound journey.
